Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Galectin-3. Anti-Human Galectin-3-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect hGalectin-3 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Galectin-3 (500-P246) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hGalectin-3.

Galactose-specific lectin which binds IgE. May mediate with the alpha-3, beta-1 integrin the stimulation by CSPG4 of endothelial cells migration. Together with DMBT1, required for terminal differentiation of columnar epithelial cells during early embryogenesis. In the nucleus: acts as a pre-mRNA splicing factor. Involved in acute inflammatory responses including neutrophil activation and adhesion, chemoattraction of monocytes macrophages, opsonization of apoptotic neutrophils, and activation of mast cells.
