In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 45% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Glypican 2 is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Endoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.
Glypican 2 (GPC2) is a gene located on chromosome 7q22.1, encoding a member of the glypican family of heparan sulfate proteoglycans that are attached to the cell surface via a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor. Glypicans are involved in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, and morphogenesis, primarily through their interactions with growth factors and morphogens in the extracellular environment. GPC2 is prominently expressed in the nervous system and plays a significant role in neural development, influencing processes such as neuronal growth and axon guidance. Alterations in GPC2 expression have been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders and certain cancers, such as neuroblastoma, where it can act as an oncofetal antigen. GPC2 is being investigated for its potential as a therapeutic target and biomarker in oncology due to its involvement in tumorigenesis and cancer progression. Research continues to explore its functional mechanisms and its implications in both neurobiology and cancer therapy.
