H2BK120ac refers to the acetylation of lysine 120 on histone H2B, a post-translational modification associated with active chromatin. It is generally linked to transcriptional activation by promoting a more open chromatin structure and facilitating access of transcription machinery. This modification can also interact with other histone marks to regulate gene expression.
