KIF22/KID Antibody (A301-114A) in IP
Detection of human KIF22/KID by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-KIF22/KID antibody (Product # A301-114A) used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. KIF22/KID was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-KIF22/KID antibodies A301-115A and BL4652, which recognize downstream epitopes. For blotting immunoprecipitated KIF22/KID, A301-115A was used at 1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of kinesin-like protein family. This family of proteins are microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. The C-terminal half of this protein has been shown to bind DNA. Studies with the Xenopus homolog suggests its essential role in metaphase chromosome alignment and maintenance.
