Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Hordeum vulgare, Nicotiana benthamiana, Zea mays
L13-1 encodes a ribosomal large-subunit protein of the eL13 family that localizes predominantly to the cytosol as a constituent of the 60S ribosomal subunit, where it contributes to ribosome structure and supports translation. The protein is a small, basic ribosomal protein (approximately 270 amino acids in representative eukaryotes) containing the conserved Ribosomal_L13e domain characteristic of eL13 proteins and is produced from a multi-exon gene model, consistent with other nuclear-encoded ribosomal protein genes. Functionally, L13-1 participates in core ribosome biogenesis/assembly and general mRNA translation as part of the peptidyl-transferase-proximal region of the large subunit, and ribosomal L13 family members have also been implicated in selective translation control in specific contexts, including internal ribosome entry site (IRES)-mediated initiation during certain RNA virus infections through cooperation with translation-associated factors such as DDX3.
