Lysozyme Antibody (MA1-83313) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescence analysis of Lysozyme was performed using 70% confluent log phase Hep G2 cells. The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 minutes, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton™ X-100 for 15 minutes, and blocked with 2% BSA for 1 hour at room temperature. Mouse anti Human Lysozyme antibody, clone SB1 (BGN/06/961) recognizes lysozyme, an enzyme that is present in mucosal secretions such as saliva and tears that is involved with non-specific organism defence.

This gene encodes human lysozyme, whose natural substrate is the bacterial cell wall peptidoglycan (cleaving the beta[1-4]glycosidic linkages between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine). Lysozyme is one of the anti-microbial agents found in human milk, and is also present in spleen, lung, kidney, white blood cells, plasma, saliva, and tears. Missense mutations in LYZ have been identified in heritable renal amyloidosis.
