Oligodendrocyte transcription factor 3 (OLIG3) is a gene located on chromosome 6q23.2, encoding a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor that is involved in the regulation of neural development. OLIG3 is a member of the OLIG family, which plays a significant role in the differentiation and maturation of oligodendrocytes, the myelinating cells of the central nervous system.
