Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
PRP39a encodes a conserved U1 snRNP-associated splicing factor that localizes predominantly to the nucleus, where it contributes to early spliceosome assembly during pre-mRNA processing. The protein is built largely from repeated tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR)-like helical motifs that form an extended scaffold for protein-protein interactions and can assemble as a homodimer, a configuration proposed to functionally substitute for the Prp39/Prp42 heterodimer found in fungi. Functionally, PRP39a promotes efficient 5-prime splice-site recognition by facilitating U1 snRNP engagement, with experimental evidence indicating a particular impact on usage of weak 5-prime splice sites and broad effects on alternative splicing patterns.
