Immunocytochemical staining of RCC1 in HepG2 cells using RCC1 Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-57215) at a 1:1,1000 dilution. Nuclei were stained blue with DAPI; Regulator of chromosome condensation 1 was stained magenta with Alexa Fluor® 647. Images were taken using Leica stellaris 5. Protein abundance based on laser Intensity and smart gain: Medium. Scale bar: 20 μm.

Binds both to the nucleosomes and double-stranded DNA. RCC1-Ran complex (together with other proteins) acts as a component of a signal transmission pathway that detects unreplicated DNA. Plays a key role in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport, mitosis and nuclear-envelope assembly.
