Western blot analysis of SERPINA4 in Rat plasma. Samples were incubated with SERPINA4 Recombinant monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-51289) using a dilution of 1:2,000 followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 180s.

SERPINA4 inhibits human amidolytic and kininogenase activities of tissue kallikrein. The inhibition is achieved by formation of an equimolar, heat- and SDS-stable complex between the inhibitor and the enzyme, and generation of a small C-terminal fragment of the inhibitor due to cleavage at the reactive site by tissue kallikrein.
