SLC27A1 Antibody (MA5-24022) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of SLC27A1 in immersion fixed HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line. Samples were incubated in SLC27A1 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-24022) using a dilution of 10 µg/mL for 3 hours at room temperature followed by NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (yellow) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm.

This antibody detects human FATP1 in cell transfectants but not non-transfected parent cells in flow cytometry.
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

SLC27A1 is a protein coding gene. Mediates the ATP-dependent import of long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) into the cell by mediating their translocation at the plasma membrane. Has also an acyl-CoA ligase activity for long-chain and very-long-chain fatty acids. May act directly as a bona fide transporter, or alternatively, in a cytoplasmic or membrane-associated multimeric protein complex to trap and draw fatty acids towards accumulation. Plays a pivotal role in regulating available LCFA substrates from exogenous sources in tissues undergoing high levels of beta-oxidation or triglyceride synthesis. May be involved in regulation of cholesterol metabolism.
