Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
SnRK1alpha1 encodes the catalytic alpha subunit of the plant SNF1/AMPK/SnRK1 energy-sensing kinase complex and is predominantly an intracellular protein that shows dynamic subcellular partitioning, including nucleo-cytosolic pools and association with endomembranes such as the endoplasmic reticulum, with nuclear enrichment reported in specific developmental contexts and conditions that modulate energy signaling. Structurally, the protein comprises an N-terminal serine/threonine protein kinase domain containing the activation (T) loop required for catalytic control, followed by a plant SnRK1-characteristic ubiquitin-associated (UBA) regulatory region, and a C-terminal regulatory segment that includes a kinase-associated 1 (KA1) domain important for assembly with regulatory subunits and control by upstream regulators. Functionally, SnRK1alpha1 acts as a central integrator of cellular energy status and stress cues, forming heterotrimeric SnRK1 complexes with non-catalytic subunits to reprogram metabolism and transcription when energy is limiting-promoting catabolic and resource-conserving responses while restraining energy-expensive biosynthetic programs-and it can influence developmental outputs by modulating localization and phosphorylation of downstream targets in a context-dependent manner.
