Western blot analysis of TIGD3 using TIGD3 antibody (Product # PA5-144066). Electrophoresis was performed on a 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours. The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 µg of sample under reducing conditions. Lane 1: human HepG2 whole cell lysates; Lane 2: human T-47D whole cell lysates; Lane 3: human SH-SY5Y whole cell lysates; Lane 4: human MCF-7 whole cell lysates. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the tigger subfamily of the pogo superfamily of DNA-mediated transposons in humans. These proteins are related to DNA transposons found in fungi and nematodes, and more distantly to the Tc1 and mariner transposases. They are also very similar to the major mammalian centromere protein B. The exact function of this gene is not known.
