Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Hordeum vulgare, Zea mays
UGPase, also called UDP glucose pyrophosphorylase, is a central enzyme in plant carbohydrate metabolism that synthesizes UDP glucose from glucose 1 phosphate and UTP, releasing pyrophosphate. UDP glucose is a key donor for sucrose biosynthesis, cellulose and callose production, glycosylation of metabolites and hormones, and starch metabolism via ADP glucose pathways. UGPase activity links cytosolic sugar pools to cell wall formation and stress responsive secondary metabolism, and is regulated by allosteric effectors, redox status, and phosphorylation. Multiple isoforms show tissue specific expression and respond to light, carbon availability, and stress. Perturbation of UGPase alters sucrose partitioning, cell wall integrity, growth, and resilience under environmental challenges.
