Reconstitute the lyophilized product with deionized water (or equivalent) to make antibody concentration of 0.5 mg/mL.
The V5 tag is a polypeptide of GKPIPNPLLGLDST amino acid sequence that can be added to a target protein using recombinant DNA technology. It can be fused to the N-terminus or C-terminus or inserted in an internal region of the protein to facilitate detection and purification. An anti-V5 tag antibody is a useful tool for the analysis of V5-tagged proteins. THE™ V5 Tag Antibody [iFluor 555], mAb, Mouse is THE™ V5 Tag Antibody (A01724) conjugated with iFluor 555 under optimal conditions with an F/P ratio of 3-6. It is suitable for detecting the expression level of V5-tagged proteins. iFluor 555 is a bright and photostable fluorescent dye. It is an excellent alternative to Alexa Fluor 555.
Upon reconstitution, it can be stored for 2-3 weeks at 2-8 °C or for up to 12 months at -20 °C or below.
Epitope tags provide a method to localize gene products in a variety of cell types, study the topology of proteins and protein complexes, identify associated proteins, and characterize newly identified, low abundance or poorly immunogenic proteins when protein specific antibodies are not available. The V5 epitope tag is derived from a small epitope (Pk) present on the P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus of simian virus (SV5). The V5 tag is usually used with all 14 amino acids (GKPIPNPLLGLDST), although it has also been used with a shorter 9 amino acid sequence (IPNPLLGLD).
