VBP1 Antibody (A305-403A) in IP
Detection of human VBP1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-VBP1 antibody (Product # A305-403A) (lot 1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. For blotting immunoprecipitated VBP1, A305-403A was used at 1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

The protein encoded by VBP1 interacts with the Von Hippel-Lindau protein to form an intracellular complex. The encoded protein functions as a chaperone protein, and may play a role in the transport of the Von Hippel-Lindau protein from the perinuclear granules to the nucleus or cytoplasm. Alternative splicing and the use of alternate transcription start sites results in multiple transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms.
