Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 100 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
EF1B1, also called elongation factor 1 beta 1, is a cytosolic guanine nucleotide exchange factor that reactivates EF1A by catalyzing the exchange of GDP for GTP, sustaining the delivery of aminoacyl tRNAs to ribosomes during translation elongation in plants. EF1B1 typically forms a complex with EF1B gamma and EF1B delta subunits, providing stability and regulation of exchange activity. Beyond its core role in translation, EF1B1 contributes to stress responses and developmental regulation by influencing protein synthesis capacity, and its expression adjusts with growth, hormone signaling, and environmental conditions. Because of its involvement in fundamental cellular processes, EF1B1 levels can serve as indicators of translational activity, but they may vary under stress, so careful validation is needed when using EF1B1 as a reference in expression studies.
