The Sheep E2 (Estradiol) ELISA quantitates E2 in serum and plasma.
原理方法
The Sheep Estradiol (E2) solid-phase competitive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is designed to measure the concentration of Estradiol (E2) in biological samples. A target-specific antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Samples, standards, or controls are added into these wells and bind to the immobilized (capture) antibody.
Sheep Estradiol (E2) in samples (or standards) competes with a fixed amount of Estradiol (E2) immobilized on the solid phase for binding to the HRP-linked detection antibody specific to Estradiol (E2). Excess conjugate and unbound sample or standard are washed from the plate.
A substrate solution is added that reacts with the enzyme-antibody complex to produce a measurable signal. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The intensity of this signal, measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 ± 2 nm, is inversely proportional to the concentration of Estradiol (E2) present in the original specimen.

It is also present in males, being produced as an active metabolic product of testosterone. It represents the major estrogen in humans. Estradiol has not only a critical impact on reproductive and sexual functioning, but also affects other organs including the bones.
