The Cambridge Pharmaceutical Cryo-EM Consortium will inaugurate its newest Thermo Scientific™ Krios™ Cryo Transmission Electron Microscope (Cryo-TEM), located at the University of Cambridge Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy.
In 2016, Thermo Fisher Scientific partnered with the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology (MRC-LMB), the University of Cambridge Nanoscience Centre and five pharmaceutical companies (Astex Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca, GSK, Sosei Heptares and UCB) to form the Cambridge Pharmaceutical Cryo-EM Consortium. The companies share use of the instruments in exchange for hosting them and expertise and guidance on the use of cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) for early-stage drug discovery research.
