Thermo Scientific single-use products aim to reduce the risk of batch, reagent, and time loss with high quality tubing. Silicone is recommended for bioprocessing applications, available in a wide variety of diameters and integrated into fluid transfer assemblies to support different applications and production scales. Interconnectable tubing is produced under CGMP conditions in ISO 7 clean areas to enable a high level of quality. Tubing products are characterized using ISO, USP, EP, and ASTM test methods to validate performance and provide reliable and consistent performance.
To support aseptic fluid transfer, tubing can be sterilized by most methods including autoclave, gamma irradiation, and ethanol. We also offer a secure supply chain with tubing manufactured within several global sites and the ability to support lean manufacturing freeing valuable clean room and storage space.
Tubing and assemblies are used at many steps in the bioprocessing workflow to preserve closed, sterile systems. These include media and buffer preparation and transfer, sample loading, media changes, harvesting, and sample purification. Featuring a low-binding surface and free of phthalate plasticizer and peroxide, the tubing’s potential for leachables, extractables, or many chemical interaction with the processed fluid can be highly reduced to help protect your sample. As your process scales, larger diameter tubing with the same composition and specifications is available. To help prevent leaks, our tubing assemblies are secured with the Thermo Scientific BioRetention Device which forms an even compression 360-degree seal.
Single-use tubing and assemblies are efficient and designed to reduce contamination risk.

Our global standard component library (GSCL) contains a variety of stocked components from which custom single-use fluid transfer assemblies and bags can be assembled with shorter lead times and exceptional quality. Within our GSCL we offer several types of tubing for bioprocessing including PC silicon, braided silicone tubing, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), and pump tubing.
