Product Specific Information
Recombinant human FGF acidic is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 141 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 16 kDa. Purity is typically greater than 97% and endotoxin level less than 1 EU/ug.
The expected biological activity (ED50) is determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of mouse BALB/c 3T3 cells and is typically less than 1.0 ng/mL. The specific activity of this protein is 1x10^6 units/mg.
Reconstitute using sterile water at 0.1 mg/mL and centrifuge prior to opening vial. Gently pipet solution down the sides of the vial. DO NOT VORTEX sample. Store reconstituted material at -20°C and add 0.1% BSA for additional stability.

Target Information
FGF1 is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This protein functions as a modifier of endothelial cell migration and proliferation, as well as an angiogenic factor. It acts as a mitogen for a variety of mesoderm- and neuroectoderm-derived cells in vitro, thus is thought to be involved in organogenesis.
