Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (84%), Rat (84%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-63449. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The LRRC23 (Leucine-Rich Repeat Containing 23) gene encodes a protein that is an evolutionarily conserved component of the radial spoke complex in sperm flagella. It is located on human chromosome 12. The LRRC23 protein interacts with radial spoke head proteins such as RSPH3A and RSPH3B, crucial for the structural integrity and proper function of the radial spokes, which are essential for flagellar motility. Mutations or deficiencies in LRRC23 have been linked to male infertility, specifically causing asthenozoospermia, characterized by reduced sperm motility. Studies have identified various mutations in LRRC23 that result in disorganized radial spokes and impaired sperm motility, leading to infertility
