This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-145074. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Syndecans are heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) that are involved in cell adhesion, tissue morphogenesis, differentiation, and act as low affinity co-receptors of soluble growth factors. It is involved in the mitogenic activity and signaling of Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-stimulating factor in osteoblasts, and has been shown to have a regulatory role in matrix assembly. Syndecan-2 is expressed at epithelial-mesenchymal interfaces, and prechondrogenic and preosteogenic mesenchymal condensations, which are areas of high morphogenetic activity.
