Reconstitute in sterile water to 0.1 mg/mL. Centrifuge vial before opening. Suspend the product by gently pipetting the above recommended solution down the sides of the vial. DO NOT VORTEX. Allow several minutes for complete reconstitution. If a precipitate is observed, centrifuge the solution thoroughly and use only the soluble fraction (removing it from the precipitate). A 10% overfill has been added to compensate for any loss of protein in the precipitate. For prolonged storage, dilute to working aliquots in a 0.1% BSA solution, store at -80°C and avoid repeat freeze thaws.

CD40 Ligand (CD40-L), or CD154, is a membrane glycoprotein and differentiation antigen expressed on the surface of T cells. The CD40 Ligand stimulates B cell proliferation and secretion of all immunoglobulin isotypes in the presence of cytokines. CD40 Ligand has been shown to induce cytokine production and tumoricidal activity in peripheral blood monocytes. It also co-stimulates proliferation of activated T cells and this is accompanied by the production of IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, and IL-2.
