Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
AGB1 encodes the sole canonical heterotrimeric G-protein beta subunit in Arabidopsis thaliana and is predominantly associated with the cell periphery, consistent with localization to the plasma membrane where heterotrimeric G-protein signaling is initiated and organized. The AGB1 protein is a soluble, non-enzymatic scaffold-like subunit predicted to adopt the characteristic beta-propeller fold built from seven WD40 repeats, a structural platform that mediates stable protein-protein interactions. Functionally, AGB1 forms an obligate dimer with G-protein gamma subunits (Gbetagamma) and, together with G alpha or extra-large G alpha partners, participates in signal transduction downstream of diverse surface inputs; genetic and biochemical evidence links AGB1-dependent signaling to regulation of guard cell calcium responses and stomatal movements (including coupling to phospholipase C/inositol phosphate signaling), as well as broader roles in development and stress/immune pathways such as defense against pathogens and modulation of growth under biotic or abiotic stress conditions.
