Argonaute 3 Antibody (711756) in WB
Western blot analysis was performed on whole cell extracts (30 µg lysate) of MCF-7 (Lane 1), U-2 OS (Lane 2), K562 (Lane 3) and HEL 92.1.7 (Lane 4). The blots were probed with Anti-AGO3 Recombinant Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Product # 711756, 1 µg/mL). A 110 kDa band corresponding to AGO3 was observed across the cell lines tested. AGO3 (protein argonaute-3) is required to RNA-mediated gene silencing (RNAi). It binds to short RNAs such as microRNAs (miRNAs) and represses the translation of mRNAs which are complementary to them. AGO3 is proposed to be involved in stabilization of small RNA derivates (riRNA) derived from processed RNA polymerase III-transcribed Alu repeats containing a DR2 retinoic acid response element (RARE) in stem cells and in the subsequent riRNA-dependent degradation of a subset of RNA polymerase II-transcribed coding mRNAs by recruiting a mRNA decapping complex involving EDC4.
