BRAP Antibody (A302-681A) in IP
Detection of human BRAP by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-BRAP antibody (Product # A302-681A) used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. BRAP was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-BRAP antibody A302-682A, which recognizes a downstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated BRAP, A302-682A was used at 1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Negatively regulates MAP kinase activation by limiting the formation of Raf/MEK complexes probably by inactivation of the KSR1 scaffold protein. Also acts as a Ras responsive E3 ubiquitin ligase that, on activation of Ras, is modified by auto-polyubiquitination resulting in the release of inhibition of Raf/MEK complex formation. May also act as a cytoplasmic retention protein with a role in regulating nuclear transport.
