PA3-900 detects calreticulin from human, non-human primate, rabbit, mouse, canine and rat samples.
PA3-900 has been successfully used in Western blot, immunofluorescence, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and immunoprecipitation procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~60 kDa protein representing calreticulin from rat brain extract. Immunofluorescence staining of calreticulin in rat brain cortex with PA3-900 results in fine granular staining consistent with ER localization.
PA3-900 immunogen is recombinant human calreticulin protein produced in the Baculovirus insect cell system.

Calr or Calreticulin is a calcium-binding chaperone that promotes folding, oligomeric assembly and quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) via the calreticulin/calnexin cycle. Calr, a lectin, interacts transiently with almost all of the monoglucosylated glycoproteins that are synthesized in the ER. Calr also interacts with with the DNA-binding domain of NR3C1 and mediates its nuclear export. It may also be involved in maternal gene expression regulation and oocyte maturation via the regulation of calcium homeostasis.
