Campylobacter jejuni pglK is a gene encoding a protein involved in the N-linked glycosylation pathway of C. jejuni a bacterium responsible for gastroenteritis in humans. The PglK protein functions as an ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter facilitating the translocation of lipid-linked oligosaccharides across the bacterial inner membrane. This glycosylation process is essential for the proper function of various proteins contributing to the bacterium's virulence and ability to cause disease .
