Lyophilized antibody can be stored at -20°C for up to 3 years. Re-constituted antibody can be stored at 4°C for several days to weeks. Once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.

petB (cytochrome b6; Cyt b6) is a plastid-encoded integral membrane protein that accumulates in the thylakoid membrane as a core catalytic subunit of the cytochrome b6f complex, positioned between photosystem II and photosystem I. The PetB polypeptide is highly hydrophobic (typically ~215-220 aa) and forms the N-terminal half of the cytochrome b6 fold with four transmembrane helices (often described as helices A-D), providing conserved heme-binding motifs that coordinate two b-type hemes and contributing to formation of the quinone reaction space together with other b6f subunits. Functionally, PetB supports plastoquinol:plastocyanin oxidoreductase activity by enabling Q-cycle electron bifurcation at the Qo/Qi sites, coupling electron transfer from plastoquinol to downstream carriers (via the Rieske 2Fe-2S protein and cytochrome f) with vectorial proton translocation across the thylakoid membrane to build the proton-motive force that drives ATP synthesis; cytochrome b6f thereby sets a key control point for linear electron flow and also participates in cyclic electron flow and regulatory signaling linked to light acclimation and state transitions.
