PA1-31470 detects DAP Kinase 2 from mouse samples. Expected to react with human due to sequence homology.
PA1-31470 has been successfully used in Western blot applications. Approx 40-45 kDa bands are seen in mouse brain extracts.

DAPK2 is a calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase that acts as a positive regulator of apoptosis, and is expressed in many tissue types. DAPK2 encodes a protein that belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase family. This protein contains a N-terminal protein kinase domain followed by a conserved calmodulin-binding domain with significant similarity to that of death-associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1), a positive regulator of programmed cell death. Overexpression of this gene was shown to induce cell apoptosis. It uses multiple polyadenylation sites.
