The FAM18B gene (Family with Sequence Similarity 18 Member B) is located on chromosome 17q21.31 and encodes a protein whose precise biological functions are not fully characterized. The FAM18 family, to which FAM18B belongs, includes proteins that are presumed to be involved in cellular processes such as signal transduction and intracellular trafficking.
