Immunohistochemistry analysis of Fibrinogen alpha chain in paraffin-embedded human placenta. Samples were incubated with Fibrinogen alpha chain Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-116593) using a dilution of 1:100 (40x lens). Perform high pressure antigen retrieval with 10 mM citrate buffer pH 6.0 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

Fibrinogen is a soluble protein found in blood plasma and is produced by the liver cells. The protein is a hexamer consisting of two sets of disulfide linked chains. Fibrinogen is essential for blood coagulation as the precursor of fibrin. It is converted to fibrin by the action of thrombin in the presence of calcium ions.
