Western blot analysis of GATA5 using GATA5 antibody (Product # PA5-144085). Electrophoresis was performed on a 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours. The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 µg of sample under reducing conditions. Lane 1: human 293T whole cell lysates; Lane 2: human HepG2 whole cell lysates. GATA binding factor 5 is a transcription regulator involved in embryonic development. In addition, the protein encoded by this gene contains two GATA-type zinc fingers and is known to bind to hepatocyte nuclear factor-1alpha (HNF-1alpha). This interaction is essential for cooperative activation of the intestinal lactase-phlorizin hydrolase promoter. GATA-5 may be involved in the establishment of cardiac smooth muscle cell diversity.
