JAB1 Antibody (PA1-25464) in ICC/IF
Immunofluorescence analysis of JAB1 was performed using 70% confluent log phase HeLa cells. The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde for 10 minutes, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton™ X-100 for 15 minutes, and blocked with 2% BSA for 1 hour at room temperature. JAB-1 is a 38 kDa protein which was originally described as a coactivator for cJUN. It is present in a large protein complex called the "Signalosome", which has been proposed to play a signaling role in mammalian cells. This protein complex appears to be analogous to the COP9 complex in plants, which is important in light-mediated plant development. Although the specific function of JAB-1 in this complex is unclear, it has recently been implicated in targeting proteins for degradation by the proteasome.
