Myoglobin Antibody in Western Blot (WB) — Western blot was performed using Anti-Myoglobin Monoclonal Antibody (4E2) (Product # MA1-22740) and a 17 kDa band corresponding to Myoglobin was observed only in Mouse and Rat, Heart and Skeletal Muscle and not in any other tissues. Tissue extracts (30 µg lysate) of Mouse Heart (Lane 1), Rat Heart (Lane 2), Mouse Skeletal Muscle (Lane 3), Rat Skeletal Muscle (Lane 4), Mouse Liver (Lane 5), Rat Liver (Lane 6), Mouse Kidney (Lane 7), Mouse Lung (Lane 8) and Mouse Adipose (Lane 9) were electrophoresed using NuPAGE™ 12% Bis-Tris Protein Gel (Product # NP0342BOX). Resolved proteins were then transferred onto a Nitrocellulose membrane (Product # IB23001) by iBlot® 2 Dry Blotting System (Product # IB21001). The blot was probed with the primary antibody (1:1000 dilution) and detected by chemiluminescence with Goat anti-Mouse IgG (H+L) Superclonal™ Recombinant Secondary Antibody, HRP (Product # A28177, 1:4000 dilution) using the iBright FL 1000 (Product # A32752). Chemiluminescent detection was performed using Novex® ECL Chemiluminescent Substrate Reagent Kit (Product # WP20005).

Myoglobin Antibody — Antibody specificity was demonstrated by detection of differential basal expression of the target across tissues owing to their inherent genetic constitution. Relative expression of Myoglobin was observed only in Mouse and Rat, Heart and Skeletal Muscle and not in any other tissue using Anti-Myoglobin Monoclonal Antibody (4E2) (Product # MA1-22740) in Western Blot. {RE}

This gene encodes a member of the globin superfamily and is expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscles. The encoded protein is a hemoprotein contributing to intracellular oxygen storage and transcellular facilitated diffusion of oxygen. At least three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been reported.
