NADK (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Kinase) is an enzyme crucial in the regulation of intracellular NADP+ levels, which are necessary for metabolic processes such as fatty acid and DNA synthesis. The human NADK gene is located on chromosome 1p36.33 and encodes a protein that primarily functions in the cytoplasm. NADK catalyzes the phosphorylation of NAD+ to NADP+, playing a significant role in maintaining the cellular redox state.
