Western blot analysis was performed on Nuclear extracts (30 µg lysate) of K-562 (Lane 1), A-431 (Lane 2), MCF7 (Lane 3) and HeLa (Lane 4). The blots were probed with Anti-NSUN5 Recombinant Rabbit Superclonal™ Antibody (Product # 711095, 1-2 µg/mL) and detected by chemiluminescence using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (Heavy Chain) Superclonal Secondary Antibody, HRP conjugate (Product # A27036, 0.4 µg/mL, 1:2500 dilution). NSUN5 is a member of the evolutionarily conserved NOL1/NOP2/Sun domain family. The encoded protein may function as a DNA methyltransferase in the nucleus. The gene is deleted in Williams syndrome, a multisystem developmental disorder caused by the deletion of contiguous genes at 7q11.23. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
