Lyophilized antibody can be stored at -20°C for up to 3 years. Re-constituted antibody can be stored at 4°C for several days to weeks. Once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
DNA photolyase genes encode flavin-dependent, blue/near-UV light-responsive enzymes that localize predominantly to the nucleus where they act directly on UV-damaged DNA, binding cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers or (6-4) photoproduct lesions and using absorbed photon energy to catalyze light-driven reversal of these lesions (photoreactivation), thereby restoring normal base pairing and genome integrity. Photolyases are typically monomeric proteins built around a conserved photolyase homology region comprising an N-terminal alpha/beta domain and a helical domain that together form a substrate-binding cavity and a cofactor pocket; they bind flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) as the catalytic chromophore and, in many species, a second light-harvesting antenna cofactor (commonly a pterin such as 5,10-methenyl-tetrahydrofolate) that broadens light absorption and transfers excitation energy to FAD. In organisms lacking true photolyase activity, related photolyase/cryptochrome family proteins retain the characteristic photolyase-like fold and FAD binding but have structural features that disfavor lesion binding and instead function primarily in blue-light signaling and/or circadian clock regulation rather than DNA repair.
