PA1-26635 detects SA2 from human samples. PA1-26635 will not react with Xenopus laevis. PA1-26635 is expected to cross react with mouse (94% conserved) due to sequence homology.
PA1-26635 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
The PA1-26635 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to a portion of human SA 2 encoded in part by exons 31 and 32.
STAG2 is a component of the cohesin complex. This complex is required for the cohesion of sister chromatids after DNA replication. The cohesin complex forms a large proteinaceous ring within which sister chromatids can be trapped. At anaphase, the complex is cleaved and dissociates from chromatin, allowing sister chromatids to segregate. The cohesin complex may also play a role in spindle pole assembly during mitosis.
