Flow cytometry analysis of SIRP alpha/beta in human monocytes (red-filled) from lymphocytes (black-dashed). Samples were incubated with monoclonal SIRP alpha/beta (Product # MA574220) using a dilution of 10 µL reagent/100 µL of peripheral whole blood, followed by APC.

SIRP alpha (CD172a) is an inhibitory receptor that binds CD47 and suppresses phagocytosis via ITIM-mediated signaling, while SIRP beta lacks ITIMs and instead signals through adaptor proteins like DAP12 to promote activation and inflammation. Together, they function as a paired system that balances inhibitory and activating signals in immune regulation.
