Its N-terminal half contains a RNA recognition motif and the C-terminal half is rich in Arg/Asp and Arg/Glu dipeptides, a characteristic of a variety of splicing factors.The protein encoded by this gene is a homolog of U1-snRNP binding protein. Its N-terminal half contains a RNA recognition motif and the C-terminal half is rich in Arg/Asp and Arg/Glu dipeptides, a characteristic of a variety of splicing factors. This gene is differentially expressed in a variety of human tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene, and they differ in the 5' sequence regions.
