Biopharmaceuticals such as monoclonal antibodies are complex and consequently the array of tools and techniques required to fully characterize them is extensive.
In the first half of this webinar, we offer a comprehensive overview of the advanced column technology in biopharmaceutical characterization developed by Thermo Fishr Scientific: including size exclusion, ion-exchange, hydrophobic interaction, and reversed phase chromatography.
In the second half of this webminar, we will describe an universal separation platform for both cation and anion exchange chromatography using a pH buffer and salt gradient. We demonstrate the utility of this platform by developing optimized ion-exchange characterization methods for several monoclonal antibodies.
Shanhua Lin, Ph.D.
Director, Research and Development Chromatography Columns and Consumables | Thermo Fisher Scientific
Shanhua Lin, Ph.D., is the R&D Director for the Chromatography Consumables (CCS) Business Unit in Thermo Fisher Scientific. Her career spans more than 20 years in the bioanalytical industry and academia and her experience encompasses early research through new product introductions.
In her current role, she manages new product development and innovations for all products within the CCS business. She also provides technical guidance on a broad range of topics, including analysis in support of new business initiatives and cross-functional initiatives that support the Chromatography Consumables BU’s strategic vision.
Under her leadership, the R&D team developed and introduced to the market multiple HPLC consumable products used in the characterization and QC of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. These include HPLC columns and pH Gradient Buffers used for monoclonal antibody titer, aggregate, and charge variant analysis.
Dr. Lin received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Delaware and completed her post-doctoral training at Johns Hopkins Medical School with Professor Robert Cotter. She has authored more than 20 publications and patents.
