Spectroscopy training courses for WDXRF and OES products

Unlock the full potential of your analytical equipment with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s spectroscopy training courses. Our hands-on approach to training offers an engaging learning experience for all WDXRF (wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence) and OES (optical emission spectrometry) products. Take these opportunities to learn about operations, maintenance, and automation aspects of your elemental analysis instruments.

Courses are designed to familiarize participants with the technologies while advancing operational skills, making these training courses ideal for multiple different types of end-users:

  • Operators and supervisors involved in installation and operation
  • Maintenance technicians (instrumentation/electrical technicians and engineers)
  • Automation specialists seeking to upgrade their systems
  • End-users involved in interpretation of results and definition of analytical methods

The operational theories behind WDXRF spectroscopy and OES, and an overview of related devices and subcomponents overview, are included in every course. All our spectroscopy training courses will include training material, evaluations, and certificates of completion.

Courses will be hosted in Thermo Fisher Scientific’s facilities in Lausanne, Switzerland. All courses will be held in English.

Learning outcomes

Our various courses equip participants to address a range of challenges:

  • Recognize instrument components, understand their working principles and know their operation modes
  • Execute analytical programs and interpret results
  • Execute yearly and routine maintenance tasks
  • Perform calibrations, make drift corrections, and do advanced SW operations and sample preparation
  • Work with automation for various tasks like robot teaching; system start/restart; system maintenance; SW configuration; installation and upgrades
