Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (95%), Rat (95%).
This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-61571. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
The FAM84A gene, also known as Family With Sequence Similarity 84 Member A, is located on chromosome 1q21.3. This gene encodes a protein that has been implicated in the development and progression of various cancers. In particular, FAM84A has been identified as a key player in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathways, which are crucial for tumor development and metastasis. Studies have shown that the downregulation of FAM84A can inhibit thyroid cancer progression while being negatively regulated by the tumor suppressor miR-874-3p. Additionally, FAM84A has been noted to be over-expressed in phenobarbital-promoted mouse liver tumors, indicating its potential role in chemical carcinogenesis. The gene's expression is regulated by nuclear receptor CAR, highlighting its involvement in liver cancer pathophysiology.
