This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-58206. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Matrix extracellular phosphoglycoprotein (MEPE), also known as osteoblast/osteocyte factor 45 (OF45), is a member of the small integrin-binding ligand N-linked glycoprotein (SIBLING) family. MEPE promotes renal phosphate excretion and modulates mineralization. It can be phosphorylated by secreted protein kinases. MEPE is expressed in osteoblasts, osteocytes and odontoblasts, and the expression has also been reported in numerous human tumor cell lines. It is a 525-amino acid protein with a calculated molecular weight of 58 kDa.
