Human PAF ELISA Kit quantifies PAF in serum and plasma.
The Human PAF solid-phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is designed to measure the amount of the target bound between a matched antibody pair. A target-specific antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Samples are then added into these wells and bind to the immobilized (capture) antibody. The sandwich is formed by the binding of the second (detector) antibody to the target on a different epitope from the capture antibody. An antibody conjugated with enzyme binds the formed sandwich. After incubation and washing steps to rid the microplate of unbound substances.
Rigorous validation:
Each manufactured lot of this ELISA kit is quality tested for criteria such as sensitivity, specificity, precision, and lot-to-lot consistency. See manual for more information on validation.

Platelet Activating Factor (PAF) is a potent phospholipid mediator involved in various biological processes, including inflammation, thrombosis, and allergic reactions. PAF is synthesized by various cell types, including platelets, endothelial cells, and leukocytes. It exerts its effects by binding to the PAF receptor (PAFR), a G-protein coupled receptor, triggering a cascade of intracellular signaling pathways.PAF plays a critical role in the regulation of platelet aggregation, vascular permeability, and leukocyte activation. It is implicated in numerous pathological conditions, such as asthma, sepsis, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. Due to its significant role in inflammation and immune responses, PAF is considered a valuable target for therapeutic interventions aimed at modulating its activity to treat associated diseases.
