The Rat IgG (Immunoglobulin G) ELISA quantitates IgG in serum and plasma.
Principle of the method
The Rat Immunoglobulin G (IgG) solid-phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is designed to measure the concentration of Immunoglobulin G (IgG) in biological samples. A target-specific antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Samples, standards, or controls are added into these wells and bind to the immobilized (capture) antibody.
The sandwich complex is formed by the addition of a second (HRP-linked) detection antibody specific to Immunoglobulin G (IgG). Excess reagents are washed from the plate.
A substrate solution is added that reacts with the enzyme-antibody-target complex to produce a measurable signal. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution. The intensity of the signal, measured spectrophotometrically at 450 ± 2 nm, is directly proportional to the concentration of Immunoglobulin G (IgG) present in the original specimen.
Rigorous validation:
Each manufactured lot of this ELISA kit is quality tested for criteria such as sensitivity, specificity, precision, and lot-to-lot consistency. See manual for more information on validation.

Rat IgG is a type of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody that is commonly used in scientific research and diagnostics. It is produced by rats in response to foreign antigens, and is widely used as a tool for detecting and measuring the presence of specific proteins or other molecules in biological samples.
