'Two new polyaminolipids have been synthesized for the purpose of improving cellular uptake of oligonucleotides. The amphipathic compounds are conjugates of spermidine or spermine linked through a carbamate bond to cholesterol. The polyaminolipids are relatively nontoxic to mammalian cells.
