What are the tubing lengths of the regular length and extended length cassettes for the Multidrop Combi Reagent Dispensers?

Regular length tubing (small and standard) cassette length is 40 cm long.

Extended length tubing (small and standard) cassette length is 200 cm long.
Note: You can cut the extended length tubing to the desired length but we recommend checking the calibration on the cassette, once modified, to ensure it is providing accurate results.

Can the SMART cassettes with RFID tags be used with the standard Multidrop Combi without SMART option or vice versa?

Yes, the cassettes are interchangeable, however, the calibration data cannot be viewed and the information about the cassette is not updated. Also standard cassettes can be used with the Multidrop Combi with SMART option.

What should I do if the liquid foams during dispensing with the Multidrop Combi?

Some liquids foam more easily than others. One option is to reduce the pump rotor speed. There are three dispensing speeds available: High, Med (medium), and Low.

What materials come into contact with liquids to be dispensed by the Multidrop Combi?

The Small tube plastic tip dispensing cassette, Cat. No. 24073290, and the Standard tube dispensing cassette, Cat. No. 24072670, are made of: PEEK, silicone, and PP (polypropylene).

Do particles in the reagent affect dispensing with the Multidrop Combi?

Possibly. It is recommended that you ensure that there are no particles greater than 50 μm in the reagent to avoid blockage of the tips, especially when working with small tube cassettes.

What is the tip inner diameter (ID) of the dispensing cassettes of the Multidrop Combi?

The tip inner diameter (ID) is either 0.22 mm (Small tube plastic tip dispensing cassette, Cat. No. 24073290, and Small tube metal tip dispensing cassette, Cat. No. 24073295), or 0.5 mm (Standard tube dispensing cassette, Cat. No. 24072670).

Can the dispensing cassettes of the Multidrop Combi be recalibrated?

Yes, refer to the user manual for instructions.

When do you have to calibrate the dispensing cassettes of the Multidrop Combi?

We recommend that you verify the calibration at least monthly, depending on the frequency of use and the liquids used.
Note: The recalibration procedure can be performed by the user and is detailed in the operations manual, hoowever, the manual is only a recommendation. This varies for many reasons, but is up to the user to determine what is best based on their SOP. We do recommend that the cassettes are checked, but we leave that frequency up to the user. Also, the SMART cassettes help remove the guess-work, as they indicate when the next calibration check is due. Users typically check them after their recommended end of life (EOL) if they haven't noticed any issues previous to this time frame. Refer to the user manual for details pertaining to EOL.

What liquid is recommended for washing the Multidrop Combi tubing?

It is recommended that you use deionized distilled water and/or detergent solutions, for example, 0.2–1% Tween followed by deionized distilled water.

Does the dispensing cassette of the Multidrop Combi include a calibration certificate?

Yes, all dispensing cassettes include a factory calibration report.

What is the dead volume of the dispensing cassettes of the Multidrop Combi with 200 cm tubing?

The dead volume of the dispensing cassettes of the Multidrop Combi with 200 cm tubing is as follows:
5 mL using a long small tube cassette (200cm)
24 mL using a long standard tube cassette (200cm)
Dead volume can be recovered using the Empty button on any of the dispensers with up to a 99% recovery rate.

What are the autoclaving conditions for the dispensing cassettes?

The autoclaving conditions are as follows: 1 bar pressure at 121 degrees for 20 minutes.

How many times can the Multidrop Combi dispensing cassettes be autoclaved?

The dispensing cassettes can be autoclaved 10 times for the small tube cassettes or 50 times for the standard tube cassettes.
